Basketball Recap: Holy Cross Comes Up Short

Holy Cross was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the John Paul II Centurions 60-26. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.

Ella Garcia continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for John Paul II, going 12 for 16 on her way to 29 points and six steals. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last eight games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Becker, who posted four points in addition to 12 rebounds and seven steals.

Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for John Paul II, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 15-12.

Holy Cross will take on Incarnate Word Academy at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for John Paul II, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against New Braunfels Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. John Paul II has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
