It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Palm Beach Central ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs 4-3. This was payback for the Broncos, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Charlie Houd looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Palm Beach Central's win was truly a team effort as eight different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luis Sousa, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Tre Stropp also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Palm Beach Central and bumps their season record up to 5-2. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 10.5 hits in those games compared to only 5.4 in the others. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palm Beach Central will challenge Oxbridge Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palm Beach Central is facing Oxbridge Academy at the right time seeing as Oxbridge Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, they will take on Leonard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Leonard is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.4 runs per game this season.
