Softball Recap: Berwyn/Cicero Morton Comes Up Short

Berwyn/Cicero Morton managed to slip by Nazareth Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mustangs lost 7-0 to the Roadrunners on Wednesday. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Roadrunners apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Alyssa Kunz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

Berwyn/Cicero Morton now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Nazareth Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.

Coming up, Berwyn/Cicero Morton will host De La Salle at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games the Meteors have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Nazareth Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lyons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
