Basketball Game Preview: Panguitch Bobcats vs. Beaver Beavers

Panguitch hasn't had much luck against Beaver recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Panguitch Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Beaver Beavers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Panguitch is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Bryce Valley: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Panguitch blew Bryce Valley out of the water with a 58-25 final score. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats who have now won three contests in a row.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Beaver's strategy against Water Canyon on Thursday. Beaver was the clear victor by a 52-26 margin over Water Canyon. Given the Beavers' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Wildcats are ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Panguitch is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.0 points per game. As for Beaver, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.
