Recap: Capital City Cavaliers vs. Battle Spartans
After a string of three wins, the Capital City Cavaliers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. Their rough 81-56 defeat to Battle might stick with them for a while. Capital City has struggled against Battle recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
It was another big night for Tate Mccubbin, who shot 4-for-8 from deep and dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds for Battle. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccubbin has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Vernell Holt, who scored 14 points.
Capital City's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8. As for Battle, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Capital City will take on Miller Career Academy at TBD on Friday. One thing working in Capital City's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Battle, they will be playing at home against Helias at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Battle is coming into the match with 13 straight victories at home, meaning Helias will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
