Basketball Game Preview: Tri-State Christian Huskies vs. Quad Cities Christian Eagles

The Tri-State Christian Huskies will head out to challenge the Quad Cities Christian Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Tri-State Christian fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Morning Star Academy on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Mustangs 63-58. One positive for the Huskies, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Quad Cities Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 60-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Faith Christian. The match marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Tri-State Christian will need focus on slowing down Tanner Garant, one of several Quad Cities Christian players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 16 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The contest was Garant's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Andrew Madden was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

Tri-State Christian's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Quad Cities Christian, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 11-2.

Tri-State Christian took a serious blow against Quad Cities Christian in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, falling 68-33. Thankfully for Tri-State Christian, Seth Karl (who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
