Baseball Game Preview: Housatonic-Lakeview Mountaineers vs. Thomaston Bears

Housatonic-Lakeview and Thomaston are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Mountaineers will host the Bears at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Housatonic-Lakeview managed to slip by Mount Everett Regional the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Mountaineers lost 16-3 to the Eagles on Thursday.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Bears on Saturday. Thomaston came up short against Granby Memorial, falling 18-7. Thomaston hasn't had much luck with Granby Memorial recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Housatonic-Lakeview's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Thomaston, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Housatonic-Lakeview took their win against Thomaston in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-0 score. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Bears have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
