Softball Recap: Topeka Trojans vs. Emporia Spartans

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Basehor-Linwood, Topeka was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Emporia Spartans 10-4. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Topeka considering their one-run performance the game before.

For Emporia's part, Maedeen McClure was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Kirmer, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 1-for-3.

Topeka's victory bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Emporia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-12.

Topeka will stay at home for another game and welcome Garden City on Thursday. As for Emporia, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 16-1 win vs. Life Prep on the 3rd.
