Football Game Preview: Cincinnati Country Day Nighthawks vs. Norwood Indians

The Cincinnati Country Day Nighthawks are taking a road trip to square off against the Norwood Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cincinnati Country Day will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.

Cincinnati Country Day is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Miami Valley Christian Academy 50-6 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Nighthawks in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won seven in a row.

Levi Guttman had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 182 yards and three TDs while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 66 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six passes.

Guttman was just one part of a punishing run game: Cincinnati Country Day was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Cincinnati Country Day didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Guttman.

Meanwhile, Norwood had to suffer through a 49-6 loss at the hands of Bethel-Tate. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly 43 points.

Cincinnati Country Day's record is now 6-1. As for Norwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Cincinnati Country Day ended up a good deal behind Norwood when the teams last played back in October of 2017, losing 17-0. Can the Nighthawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
