Volleyball Recap: Bruton Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Bruton was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Gloucester on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warhill Lions on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 back in September.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 23-25, 25-14.

Addison Newman paced Bruton's offense, picking up 15 kills. Newman got some help from Annalise Wood and her 24 assists. Wood also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kristen Goodwell, each putting up three.

Bruton's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Warhill, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-8.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bruton is set to face off against their familiar foe Jamestown at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Warhill will take on rival Poquoson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
