Volleyball Recap: Seward Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with South Anchorage

Seward faced South Anchorage in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Seahawks fell 2-0 to the Wolverines. If the Seahawks were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Wolverines when the teams met back in October of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

South Anchorage can attribute much of their success to Jessica Gieser, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Seward's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for South Anchorage, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-3.

Looking ahead, Seward will challenge Houston at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for South Anchorage, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Soldotna on the 27th.
