Basketball Recap: Treasure Coast Piles Up the Points Against Okeechobee

A well-balanced attack led Treasure Coast over Okeechobee in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Treasure Coast Titans blew the Okeechobee Brahmans out of the water with a 59-16 final score. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Brahmans are ranked 498th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Taliyah Brown was a one-woman wrecking crew for Treasure Coast as she went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points and six steals. Those six steals gave Brown a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Justice Alexis, who posted six points and five rebounds.

The win made it two in a row for Treasure Coast and bumps their season record up to 11-11. As for Okeechobee, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Treasure Coast will square off against Vero Beach at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Treasure Coast is facing Vero Beach at the right time seeing as Vero Beach is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Okeechobee, they will take on South Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Okeechobee will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: South Fork will have lost 16 straight heading into Wednesday's matchup.
