Baseball Recap: Palo Duro Comes Up Short

Palo Duro was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Amarillo Sandies, falling 10-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Sandies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 last Tuesday.

Palo Duro's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Amarillo, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7-1 record this season.

Palo Duro will be playing in front of their home fans against Lubbock-Cooper at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lubbock-Cooper will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Palo Duro surely won't give up without a fight. As for Amarillo, they are taking a road trip to square off against Coronado at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Coronado has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
