Basketball Recap: South Glens Falls Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Glens Falls can now relate to. They were beaten by the Niskayuna Silver Warriors 70-31 on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 484th in New York, while the Silver Warriors are ranked 102nd in New York).

Niskayuna was led to victory by Ciarra Gonzalez and Natalie Birmingham. Gonzalez dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards, while Birmingham went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. What's more, Gonzalez posted four steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Ava Roemer was another key player, going 5-for-7 en route to 10 points.

South Glens Falls has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. Niskayuna moved to 11-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

As of now, neither South Glens Falls nor Niskayuna have any future games scheduled.
