Baseball Recap: Barr-Reeve Takes a Loss

Edgewood hit Barr-Reeve with a five-run sixth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings lost 8-2 to the Mustangs. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Barr-Reeve and nudges their season record down to 14-3. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-5 North Posey (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 65.3% over those games). As for Edgewood, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.

Barr-Reeve wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, an 8-4 loss against Jasper on the 10th. As for Edgewood, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 14-7 defeat against North Posey on the 10th.
