Bowie came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the McLeod Longhorns a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Pirates have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Bowie's victory bumped their record up to 12-4. As for McLeod, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-10.

Coincidentally, Bowie and McLeod will both be playing Detroit the next time they take the field. The Pirates will host the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Longhorns will host them at 4:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
