Union Pines's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over the Montgomery Central Timberwolves. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Timberwolves: they've now won five in a row.

Dylan Benedict spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on David Park, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Nathan Valdez also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
