Woodburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They fell 8-5 to the South Albany Redhawks. Surprisingly, this marked the Bulldogs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Mason Pickett put in work no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Pickett was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Pickett wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Manny Alvarez, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Alvarez has brought in this season.

Woodburn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for South Albany, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

While Woodburn had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
