Basketball Recap: L.E.A.D. Academy Comes Up Short

L.E.A.D. Academy lost against Rocky Bayou Christian back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The L.E.A.D. Academy Lions were outmatched by the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights and fell 71-44.

Despite the loss, L.E.A.D. Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Andrew Holcomb went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc on his way to 26 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Holcomb has scored all season.

Rocky Bayou Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was McCabe Olin out in front who went 9 of 11 en route to 18 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Olin a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Sanders, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 15 points and seven assists.

L.E.A.D. Academy dropped their record down to 4-17 with the defeat, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 6-15 record.

L.E.A.D. Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-40 loss against West Florida Baptist Academy on the 1st. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, they will welcome Pensacola Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rocky Bayou Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season.
