Volleyball Game Preview: Woodruff Wolverines vs. Broome Centurions

Woodruff hasn't had much luck against Broome recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Wolverines will be playing at home against the Centurions at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Woodruff came up short against Union County and fell 3-1.

Woodruff started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-23.

Woodruff might have lost, but man, Ruthie Sheffield was a machine: she had 34 digs and six assists. Sheffield has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Broome also suffered a loss in their last game, falling to Chapman by a score of 3-1. The loss continues a trend for the Centurions in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost three in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 22-25, 25-22, 25-9.

Woodruff's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Broome, their loss dropped their record down to 8-11.
