Football Game Preview: Powhatan Indians vs. Huguenot Falcons + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Elliott Murphy and Charles Scott Jr are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Powhatan Indians will square off against the Huguenot Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Powhatan turned things around against James River Midlothian last Friday. They snuck past the Rapids with a 20-14 victory.

A big part of Powhatan's win came down to the chemistry between Joshua Layman and his top target Ben Whitver. Layman threw for 234 yards and two TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes while Whitver picked up 147 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Meanwhile, Huguenot hadn't done well against Monacan recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Falcons blew past the Chiefs 75-0. That 75 point margin sets a new team best for the Falcons this season.

Huguenot's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Powhatan, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Things could have been worse for Powhatan, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 36-17 loss to Huguenot in their previous matchup back in September of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
