Softball Recap: Lucy Beckham Find Success

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lucy Beckham ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Stratford Knights 8-7. This was a revenge game for the Bengals: when they faced off against the Knights on April 2nd, they had to take a 4-2 defeat.

Presley Cribb was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of BROOKE THOMPSON, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Lucy Beckham now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Stratford, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10-1 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lucy Beckham will challenge Wando at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bengals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Stratford, they will square off against Cane Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
