Recap: Centennial Stars vs. Beechcroft Cougars
The Centennial Stars had to endure an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. In a tight matchup that could have gone either way, they made off with a 76-75 win over Beechcroft. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Centennial was led to victory by Kal-el Faison and Carl Koonce. Faison scored 22 points, while Koonce scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Anttonyo Alford, who scored 12 points.
Centennial's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2. As for Beechcroft, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Centennial will be home for the holidays to greet Whetstone at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Whetstone comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Beechcroft, they will play host again and welcome East, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
