Football Recap: Locke Comes Up Short

Locke fell victim to New Designs University Park and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Cardinals, falling 26-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-6 on Monday.

Alondra Mendoza looked great while leading her team to the win, rushing for 88 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. She has become a key player for New Designs University Park: the team is undefeated when she posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-4 otherwise.

This is the second loss in a row for Locke and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for New Designs University Park, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Locke will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Simon Tech at 5:00 p.m. on October 6. As for New Designs University Park, they will head out to challenge TEACH Tech Charter at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
