Baseball Recap: St. Luke's Episcopal Has No Trouble Against Escambia County

St. Luke's Episcopal got themselves on the board against Escambia County on Monday, but Escambia County never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Escambia County Blue Devils as they made off with a 17-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won six in a row.

Campbell Tillman and Conner Moseley made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Tillman pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Moseley pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Tillman has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Tillman scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Moseley scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Tillman a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Russ Warner and Cooper Frampton did most of the damage at the plate: Warner went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and one double, while Frampton scored four runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those four runs gave Frampton a new career-high. Jeremy Menhennett was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

St. Luke's Episcopal's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Escambia County, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as St. Luke's Episcopal Wildcats take on Foley Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Escambia County, they will host W.S. Neal at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. W.S. Neal's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Escambia County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
