Basketball Game Preview: Piper Pirates vs. Basehor-Linwood Bobcats

The Piper Pirates will face off against the Basehor-Linwood Bobcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Piper's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Friday, Piper didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against De Soto, but they still walked away with a 61-55 win. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Wildcats are ranked 62nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Basehor-Linwood was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past Seaman 67-39. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 28 points or more this season.

Piper pushed their record up to 15-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.8 points over those games. As for Basehor-Linwood, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Piper strolled past Basehor-Linwood in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 71-54. The rematch might be a little tougher for Piper since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
