Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Cavazos and Jake Gwaltney Secure Win for Annapolis Christian Academy

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Annapolis Christian Academy walked away with it. They snuck past the School of the Woods Wildcats with a 50-46 win on Friday. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Leading Annapolis Christian Academy to victory were Jake Gwaltney and Jeremiah Cavazos. Gwaltney dropped a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Cavazos posted 15 points along with seven assists and seven boards. The match was Gwaltney's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. Noah Riojas was another key player, putting up eight points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Annapolis Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They are 18-6 when they've passed the ball that well.

Despite the loss, School of the Woods still got an impressive performance from Adam Zagaar, who earned 22 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Truitt Torgerson, who had six points.

Annapolis Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 18-12. As for School of the Woods, their loss dropped their record down to 28-7.

Annapolis Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-32 defeat against Sunnybrook Christian on the 22nd. School of the Woods does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
