Volleyball Recap: Cedar Grove Takes a Loss

Cedar Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to the Southwest DeKalb Panthers. The Saints were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in August of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-10.

Janai Townes went supernova For Southwest DeKalb., getting nine aces and two assists. Townes is crushing it when it comes to aces: she's served at least five every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aivah Peters, who had five aces.

Cedar Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Southwest DeKalb, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Coincidentally, Cedar Grove and Southwest DeKalb will both be playing New Manchester the next time they take the court. The Saints will host the Jaguar at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
