Lopez waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They walked away with a 49-36 win over the Harlingen South Hawks. This was a revenge game for the Lobos: when they faced off against the Hawks back in December of 2024, they had to take a 42-36 defeat.

Several Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Allison Miller, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Mia Reyna was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Lopez has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 games, which provided a massive bump to their 19-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points per game. As for Harlingen South, they moved to 24-6 with that loss, which also ended their 15-game winning streak.

Lopez will face off against Edcouch-Elsa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harlingen South, they will take on Donna at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
