Volleyball Recap: West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] Takes a Loss

West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Bluejays. If the Cougars were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Bluejays when the teams met back in October of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-15.

PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central was led to victory by Rylee Boensel and Jaycee Gusemann. Boensel had nine digs and three aces, while Gusemann had 19 digs. That's the most aces Boensel has posted since back in September.

West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs]'s loss dropped their record down to 3-25. As for PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-17 record this season.

West Central co-op [Winchester-Bluffs] didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against South County on the 18th. PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central has also already played their next contest (against North Mac), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
