Basketball Game Preview: AGWSR Cougars vs. Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars

The AGWSR Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Sumner-Fredericksburg Cougars at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

AGWSR will head into Tuesday's game hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 30) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Grundy Center 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since December 5, 2023.

Meanwhile, Sumner-Fredericksburg had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 50-46 W over Oelwein on Tuesday.

AGWSR has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. As for Sumner-Fredericksburg, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14.

AGWSR came up short against Sumner-Fredericksburg in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 56-44. Can AGWSR avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
