Basketball Recap: Hernando Piles Up the Points Against Lewisburg

Hernando won the last time they faced Lewisburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Hernando Tigers claimed a resounding 73-28 victory over the Lewisburg Patriots. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 31 points or more this season.

Hernando was led to victory by Fran Kelly and Jaliyah Kelly. Fran almost dropped a double-double on 31 points and nine steals, while Jaliyah went 8 of 16 on her way to 26 points and three steals. The game was Fran's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gemma Walker, who posted two points and four steals.

Hernando has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Lewisburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hernando will take on Callaway in a holiday battle at at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hernando will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Lewisburg and Lake Cormorant will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
