Rancho Cucamonga took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Chino Hills, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rancho Cucamonga Cougars sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Chino Hills Huskies on Tuesday. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Rancho Cucamonga was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (96-95), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18, 16-25, 14-25, 15-12.

Ethan Lee paced Rancho Cucamonga's offense, picking up 17 kills. Lee got some help from Samuel Son and his 23 assists. Nathan Moreno controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Sean Spicer and Anthony Sabbara certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Spicer had 25 kills, nine digs, and two aces, while Sabbara had nine digs and two aces. Spicer is crushing it when it comes to kills: he's had at least six every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Guevara, who had 13 digs and five aces.

Rancho Cucamonga's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. As for Chino Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Coming up, Rancho Cucamonga will welcome Damien at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chino Hills, they will venture away from home to challenge Los Osos at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday.
