Basketball Recap: South Pontotoc Falls to Ingomar in First Game of Season

South Pontotoc unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 60-59 to the Ingomar Falcons. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Falcons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Ingomar had a senior duo take command as Cooper Ball posted ten points along with six steals and five assists and Jo Jo Petty almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine boards. Brody Hutchens was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Looking ahead, South Pontotoc will take on Mantachie at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ingomar, they will face off against Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
