Recap: Alleghany Trojans vs. South Stokes Sauras
This season hasn't been kind to the Alleghany Trojans, who are still winless after their seventh contest. They fell 43-32 to South Stokes on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alleghany in their matchups with South Stokes: they've now lost five in a row.
Sarah Bare and Paula Martinez certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Bare scored nine points, while Martinez scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals. Martinez hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games.
Even though they lost, Alleghany were working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Alleghany bumped their record down to 0-7 with that loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for South Stokes, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-3.
Alleghany will be home for the holidays to greet West Wilkes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for South Stokes, they will head out on the road to face off against Carver at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
