Basketball Recap: East Providence Wins Going Away Against Johnston

East Providence posted their biggest victory since February 22, 2024 on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Johnston Panthers with a sharp 59-34 win. The Townies haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

East Providence's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Johnston, they dropped their record down to 0-20 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. East Providence won't have much time to rest: their next match is against La Salle Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. La Salle Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully East Providence likes a good challenge. As for Johnston, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Bishop Hendricken at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
