Volleyball Recap: St. James Academy Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, St. James Academy couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Saint Thomas Aquinas Saints on Thursday. The Thunder haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-15.

Malin Chaput was the offensive standout of the match as she had 11 digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since October 7th.

St. James Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 27-12. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 30-5 record this season.

St. James Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Saint Thomas Aquinas, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Maize South on the 1st.
