Recap: Gowanda Panthers vs. Frewsburg Bears
The Gowanda Panthers pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Frewsburg 63-59. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gowanda in their matchups with Frewsburg: they've now lost six in a row.
Gavin Smith was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and 13 rebounds for Frewsburg. The team also got some help courtesy of Kael Collver, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Gowanda's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Frewsburg, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gowanda will take on Randolph at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Randolphpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Gowanda in New York (Randolph is ranked 112th, while Gowanda is ranked 661st). As for Frewsburg, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Falconer at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Frewsburg focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
