California had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They managed a 53-47 win over the Fatima Comets. That's more bragging rights for the Pintos, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

California has also been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.0 points per game. As for Fatima, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-6.

California will head out on the road to square off against Smith-Cotton at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fatima, they will host Marquette at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
