Baseball Recap: Rensselaer Central Takes a Loss

Rensselaer Central had lost five straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 5-11 to make it six. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hebron Hawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bombers of the 12-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2023.

As for Hebron, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-7-1 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

For Hebron's part, Luke Charpentier and Marshall Hall did most of the damage at the plate: Charpentier went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Hall went 3-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one stolen base. Those three stolen bases gave Charpentier a new career-high. Cade Hildebrandt was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Rensselaer Central has already played their next contest, a 10-2 defeat against Kankakee Valley on the 9th. As for Hebron, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-6 loss against South Central on the 9th.
