Basketball Recap: L'Anse Creuse Comes Up Short

L'Anse Creuse was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost to the Cousino Patriots on the road by a 83-66 margin. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 484th, while the Patriots are ranked 212th).

Nicholas Farr continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cousino, putting up 19 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Brandon Cade was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took for 10 points.

L'Anse Creuse's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Cousino, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

L'Anse Creuse will face off against Grosse Pointe North at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grosse Pointe North will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something L'Anse Creuse surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cousino, they will square off against South Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Cousino is on a three-game streak of home wins, South Lake a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
