Soccer Game Preview: Long Beach Poly vs. Foothill

The Long Beach Poly Jackrabbits will take on the Foothill Knights in a tournament on Saturday.

Foothill will have to contend with a Long Beach Poly team hungry for a victory, something the squad hasn't seen since the 4th. Long Beach Poly fell 2-0 to Santa Fe on Monday. While losing is never fun, Long Beach Poly can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 660th, while Santa Fe are ranked 245th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Foothill). They ended the year with a bang, routing Los Alamitos 4-1 on Friday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Foothill's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Long Beach Poly's loss dropped their record down to 1-5-2. As for Foothill, their win bumped their record up to 4-7-3.
