Basketball Recap: Rondout Valley Triumphs

Rondout Valley's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the New Paltz Huguenots 37-34. The win was some much needed relief for the Ganders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Rondout Valley's victory bumped their record up to 2-5. As for New Paltz, they dropped their record down to 4-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Rondout Valley and New Paltz could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. Rondout Valley (ranked 514th) will meet Spackenkill (ranked 206th) at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, New Paltz will face off against Our Lady of Lourdes at 5:45 p.m. on Friday down 252 places (312 vs. 60).
