Recap: L.C. Bird Skyhawks vs. Clover Hill Cavaliers
The L.C. Bird Skyhawks can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They blew past Clover Hill, posting a 78-42 victory at home. L.C. Bird's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
L.C. Bird had a senior duo take command as Trinity Dale scored 29 points along with five rebounds and four steals and Aliyah Elliott scored 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Dale has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kaleah Walker, who scored six points along with six assists.
Despite the defeat, Clover Hill saw an underclassman step up: Nia Evans scored four points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malia Imanredjo, who scored five points.
L.C. Bird is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. As for Clover Hill, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-13.
L.C. Bird won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Huguenot at 12:00 p.m. on February 7th. Huguenot comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last six games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Clover Hill, they and Cosby will face off at 7:15 p.m. on February 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cosby has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
