Recap: Discovery Spartans vs. Mulberry Panthers
Make it eight blowout wins for the Discovery Spartans this season. They blew past Mulberry 86-50 at home. The victory was familiar territory for Discovery who now have three in a row.
Darius Livingston continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with eight assists and four steals. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Lucson Jean, who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Discovery pushed their record up to 16-5 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.8 points per game. As for Mulberry, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Discovery and Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 764th, while Discovery is ranked 183rd). As for Mulberry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bartow at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
