Maple Mountain is a perfect 5-0 against Timpview since April of 2024 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Eagles will face off against the Thunderbirds at 3:30 p.m. Maple Mountain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.2 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Maple Mountain was able to grind out a solid win over Orem, taking the game 11-7.

The team relied heavily on Izzie Groneman, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Daphnee Pagano was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Timpview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against Salem Hills, falling 16-1.

Timpview saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halia Aumua, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Maple Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.6 runs over those games. As for Timpview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.

Everything went Maple Mountain's way against Timpview when the teams last played back in March, as Maple Mountain made off with a 13-3 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
