Softball Recap: Slinger Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Slinger had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Homestead on Monday. The Owls blew past the Highlanders 14-6. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight runs or more this season.

The victory (which was Slinger's sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Homestead, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.
