            Softball Recap: Forest Wildcats vs. Vanguard Knights        
        
		
        
        
            While Forest put up some  runs on Tuesday, the same  can't be said for Vanguard. The Forest Wildcats came out on top against the Vanguard Knights by a score of  4-0. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the   10-0 victory the Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April of 2024.
Not much got past  Makenna Boyd, who gave up just  a  hit and racked up seven Ks to keep Vanguard off the board. Boyd has been consistent  recently: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts any time she's  pitched this season.
 At the plate, Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Mahri Lingle, who  went 2-for-3 with one  double.

Forest's first  win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Vanguard, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
