Softball Recap: Hawthorne Sets Scoring Season-High Against Centennial

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hawthorne). They blew past the Centennial Apaches 23-2 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Hawthorne pushed their record up to 6-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15.2 runs. As for Centennial, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Hawthorne will head out to challenge Santa Monica at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Centennial, they will host Compton Early College at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Compton Early College's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
