Basketball Recap: Keytesville Comes Up Short

Keytesville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 61-27 loss at the hands of Columbia Independent. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-10.

Blake Morris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Columbia Independent, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. The contest was Morris' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Gabe Martin was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists.

Keytesville's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Columbia Independent, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Keytesville Tigers challenge the Southwest Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keytesville is facing Southwest at the right time seeing as Southwest is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Columbia Independent, they are taking a road trip to square off against Calvary Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th.
